Boken no Sekai......

The World of endless Adventure!

It all started in the vacuum of endless space, when 1 singularity came to be....
Nirvana was it's name, the first fully thinking consciousness in existence....

This consciousness, after being able to realize itself soon became lonesome, but was able to learn to control the forces of

it's surroundings, which seemed to react to it's will.

Nirvana then created 6 beings and they coexisted in harmony for around a few thousand or so centuries.

Until eventually Nirvana seemed to lose it's consciousness, and fall into a slumber....

The 6 beings of Nirvana, saddened by this, crafted a hold for Nirvana's mind.
A world fueled by the energy of creation, where Nirvana could sleep peacefully for as long as needed.....

This world The 6 had crafted soon began taking on specific life of it's own, due to the natural forces being acted upon by the wills of something new.....

Us!

Mankind had risen in the world and over the following millenniums learned about the world around them, and became accustomed to it, growing and evolving with it, leading the creation of many diverse races and creatures.

It's not clear to this day exactly HOW the forces of nature respond to the wills of those without form, thus allowing them form, but this is the legend of Boken, how it all began.....

Revolution Cycle # 30.2,653,000.
Location : Anthromere Region, Capital of Fortunes, Montz Zone, New Birth City.

There are many stories taking place in this world, but this particular one centers around a young boy.

A young boy of age 16, Human, named 'Wild' West.

His story begins, well, in a Prison cell of all places!

A sallow looking man was laying on a board that was meant to be used as a bed, with a small pillow under his head in this

Prison cell. He seemed to be asleep until he heard the sound of the door outside opening followed by 2 men talking.

Prison Guard 1 :  Stop struggling Wild, and just go quietly! You don't have a chance at freedom now. The man in the cell sleepily got up and curiously looked out past his prison bars to see what was going on. The second Guard opened the door to the cell next to the curious spectator and threw in a kid with blonde hair. wearing a long brown coat with 3 tails, and 1 sleeve torn off, as well as some bits of Black armor around his collar, wrist waist and arm.(standard style dress for the Humans of Anthromere's Capital). The rest of his outfit was a blue shirt and tan pants with long black boots.

As soon as he was hurled into the prison he immediately came back at the 2 guardsmen shouting

West : I'M TELLING YOU 2 DOPES YOU HAVE THE WRONG GUY!! I DIDN'T ATTACK THOSE LAWMEN THEY CAME AFTER ME!...........HEY!

He called as they were walking towards the exit.
The first man closed the door behind him and his partner with a nasty smirk on his face, happy to see the boy locked up apparently.

The boy banged his fists on the prison bars saying "Dammit!" as he stepped back and sat down on his ''plank'' of wood/bed.

West : Fine then. If I can't reason my way out, I'll blast!

He held out his hand towards the bars, concentrating as a small sphere of some glowing golden energy began to form in his palm...
But, nothing happened...He only managed a few sparks shooting off.
West : Wha? Come on!  He said in frustration trying harder to form the sphere.

??? : You're wasting your time kid.  Spoke the man in the adjacent cell.

West : What? Who's that?

??? : Over here.  Said the man.  West peered over and saw the head of the guy talking peeking barely out of his prison bars, staring down at the floor.

West : Oh, hey. Look don't take this the wrong way but I don't really consort with murderers so if ya know..that's what you're here for you can just - -

??? : I didn't murder anyone okay?, relax. Just thought I'd let ya' know the Prison bars generate a LAN dampening field so we can't blast our way to freedom. Kind of an obvious design choice wouldn't you agree?

West : LAN..dampening?  How does that work?

??? : I look like an engineer kid? The hell if I know, but that's what it is. So you can forget about getting free.

West sat back down looking defeated.

??? : What's your name there kid? The man asked, now retreating back to his own ''bed'' so they could talk through the walls.

West : It's West. West  Mave. Yours?
??? : Sitrus.
He replied.
West : Heh, A Gobin man then I guess. You guys always have names themed after food because you value cuisine so much right?
Sitrus : Yep, how'd you know that? Goblin folk are usually pretty secretive and secluded.
West : Ah I get around.  So, Sitrus, what are</i> you in for then if not murder?
Sitrus : Bah, I got busted for stealing same old same old.

West : Stealing eh? Nothing more exciting?

Sitrus : Nah. Of course I wouldn't have</i> to steal if the World Government would stop increasing the cost of living in this damn Capital. I'm a humble farmer from my lands, had to grow everything I ate, learned a lot of things that can help this country, but I don't have any other skills for hire, and no one's looking for cultivators around here when everything is manufactured. So I got no way to earn a living for myself. If I had any other choice I wouldn't steal.
But do they</b> get that? No! So I end up rotting away in here.

West : So you moved from your home region to Anthromere's Capital, the biggest in all of Boken no Sekai, and by association most expensive to live in, and you didn't have any way to provide for yourself other than farming and growing food? That was dumb.
West said lazily while he lay on the bed with his hands behind his head.

Sitrus : Hey! I was under the impression that The Anthromere Sovereign was trying to open the gates of this place to outsiders as a peaceful gesture after the chaos of the war okay!?

West : That was the old Sovereign's wish yeah...
Sitrus : Old? What do you mean? There's a new Sovereign now?
West : Yup.  He replied simply, but his expression indicated he was a lot angrier about it then he let show.
West : And he only seems to be interested in boosting taxes, to feed into some big project he says will "benefit the entire Adventure world", but it's not benefitting anyone so far. Just emptying their wallets, making surviving here harder. So immigrants like you are basically out of luck.
Sitrus : Well what happened to the old one?
West : He died.  He said, again, in the same manner as before.
Sitrus : W-well what happened to him?!
West : Well that depends. You want to know the truth, or what the World Government tells us is the truth?
Sitrus : Eh? You're not making any sense kid.

West suddenly sat up. West : They say it was an accident, some kind of thing out in the fields with an Ogre and a bunch of rowdy Trolls but a lot of people think it was murder.
Sitrus asked why? To which West replied, Because whenever we ask them questions about it they clam up like they don't have the answers. If it was just an accident, why not tell us what we want to know?

You mark my words, the Government is up to something...

Sitrus : Hmph, well whatever it is let's hope it's not longer prison sentences.
So what about you then kid? How'd you end up in here? They lock ya up for asking too many questions about the Sovereign's death?

West : No.  I was framed.

Sitrus : Oh? By who?    West : I dunno..At first I thought it was The World Government but...It doesn't make any sense.
Sitrus : I'm not following.
West : Okay let me start at the beginning.....

In another town somewhere in the Capital of Fortunes there was a long, long line of people who were all waiting impatiently for access to something.
They were waiting outside a building that looked a lot like a cross between a Factory and  Zoo.

??? : Alright alright! Everyone please stop pushing! There are plenty of spots open for the day!
Just wait your turn!
Shouted a slim women over all the chatter and chaos.
There was some type of complex looking machine behind her and it looked like it was generating a giant portal...
And there, in the crowd stood the focus of our story, West  Mave, waiting for his chance to enter said portal.
But where dd it lead..?

??? : Alright, number 16, your turn! Step forward please!
The women called.  West : Oh that's me!
West eagerly stepped forward and handed the lady a ticket with his ID and picture on it.
??? : Okaaay..West Mave...
She said reading it as she entered his information into the machine
??? : You're all cleared, then, enjoy your time in The Anthromere Smart Lands and Good Luck.

Sitrus : Woah woah woah, hang on a sec!

Sitrus interrupted.
Sitrus : West Mave, as in, ''Wild'' West  Mave?
West : Yeah that's right, why?
Sitrus : I knew your name sounded familiar!  Wild West, the kid who took down 100 of the strongest beasts around during a training exercise in the Smart Lands! You earned the nickname of Wild from your unpredictable fighting style. Man your famous around these parts.
West : Heh ^  Well ya know, I don't like to brag about it.
Sitrus : So the infamous Wild is a law breaker eh?
West : Hey I haven't finished you my story yet. Like I said I was framed okay?

After West stepped through the portal he was transported out of the factory and to a wide expanse of land outside!
There were mountains and cliffs as far as the eye could see! A few rivers, some waterfalls, and even what appeared to be a small construct hidden in some sort of wooded area.

This is a "Smart Land", one of many in The World of Adventure.
Smart Lands are large regions of Boken no Sekai that have developed a type of sentience over the millenia and are thus capable of manipulating their own land masses and flora in order to protect itself from harm caused by mankind.
(Hence the name Smart- Land)
They can also have an influence on the creature that roam their terrain making for an extra layer of defenses, and in return allow the creatures to feed off their resources.

The people of Boken no Sekai have however, over time, learned methods to procure these vast landscapes by extracting them from normal space and placing them inside the Warp Hole Network, which is a network of interdimensional holes scattered all over the world that are used for quick travel. Setup and maintained by The Land Alive Company which is the same company that is in charge of The Smart Lands training areas linked to many of the Warp Holes they've generated.
Adventurers young and old come to these training areas to test and improve their skills as warriors, so that The Land Alive Company may consider them for a spot on one of the Battle-Grounds competition teams.

Battle-Grounds is a fighting sport watched and loved by many in The Adventure World.

Teams are chosen and sponsored by people called Land Lords who are employed by The Land Alive Company to look after and maintain all the Smart Lands they possess, even allowing the Land Lords to title them for reference of those who wish to visit and train.

For example this particular Smart Land is owned by the women who was admitting people outside the warp hole, a Human women named Bertha. She is a powerful Land Lord and is scouting all the adventurers who are fighting here today. ready to start building her own team for the upcoming Battle-Grounds of this revolution (or yearly) Cycle.

Looking around at all the Adventurers young and old, out and about improving their skills in spirited battles, fighting the various creatures or "Beastials" of the area, some doing well, others getting knocked out and being forcefully transported out of the Smart Lands for their safety he couldn't wait to get going!

West looked up at the skies and raised his hands in the air beaming.

West : YEEEEAHH!! I'M READY, BRING IT ALL ON!!

A voice from somewhere in the distance called out after that
??? : HEY! KEEP IT DOWN LOUDMOUTH!

West : Heheh  Okay let's get busy...!

After not even a few seconds West found himself eyeing a large beastial, a Boar, with a Blade in it's back. Not the aftermath of a battle however, the blade is part of the boar's anatomy! This was a Blade Beast, one of a breed of Beastials that house some type of bladed weaponry on their bodies to attack prey.

The Boar grunted loudly staring West down and he smiled back at it in anticipation.
West : Come and get me big guy!
He shouted, taking a fighting stance.

The Boar charged, stomping along the ground each impact of it's hooves like a mini earthquake! But just as the creature was about to reach West, someone else came jumping in to attack it, diverting the Beast's attention from West.

West : Aw man, come on I had him first!

He started looking around for another creature to get engaged with, eventually finding himself another Blade Beast, this time an Ape draped in chains with a large Axe.
West smiled that same enthusiastic grin again as the angry Ape roared at him.
West : There we go... He held out his hand, and a large sphere of golden glowing energy began to form in it like what he was trying before in the jail cell. The sphere began to change shape as West focused on it, almost like it was responding to his mind. Then it started to elongate into the shape of a rod, which West grabbed. He swung the rod with the golden energy sphere still on the end creating a powerful shockwave that startled the Blade Beast, as the sphere took the shape of a GIANT sized, spearhead!

Now fully formed, this was a "LAN weapon". a common tool for fighting, comprised of nothing but pure energy by the holder's will that most all Adventurers can use.

Just before the 2 started to fight, yet again West was too late and someone else grabbed the Mighty Ape's attention, stealing his chance to gain some practice.

West : RRRRRHG!! What am I in crazy town??!! Come on already!!

Then he suddenly heard some people yelling in the distance.
Going to investigate West stumbled upon a closed off chasm with a strange soil composition. There were a couple of people standing by watching the others being flung around like ragdolls by the massive scorpion looking tail, that was poking out of the ground.
West : Woah is that what I think it is?  He asked the boy standing on the sidelines watching.
??? : If you think it's a DamBeetle Nest than yeah.

[ DamBeetle : A Vicious Insect Beastial that hide under "DamBeetle Soil", which acts a s their nest while stalking prey. They use a heat sensitive organ on the end of their tails to find a warm body above ground. Once they get a signal they rise up from the nest and skewer the prey so they can drag it back underground and eat. ]

One of the adventurers fighting the DamBeetle was suddenly impaled by it's tail and thrown into the side of the stone walls

so forcefully it seemed to deter the others, still standing from wanting to continue their attempt at conquering the creature's Nest.

??? : Man, this thing is too strong we can't even touch it while it's hiding down there!
??? : Yeah come on let's get outta here before we end up like that guy!

The rest of the spectators were about to give up on any thoughts of trying to attack the beetle as well but not West...
He ran into the Nest eagerly as the boy next to him and some others were gasping and murmering concernedly.
??? : Hey Kid get outta there that Beetle's gonna skewer you alive just like the others! Just forget it!

West : Not a chance!  He shouted back excitedly.
Now it was his time to show his stuff. West looked up at the giant Beetle's tail (Yes I know Beetles don't have scorpion tails, it's just what the monster is called) and got his LAN Spear ready to strike.
The Beetle's Tail spike was quivering as it sensed West's body heat and locked on to his position. Then it Struck!
In what was the span of a second the tail dug into the ground with incredible force, shaking the nest, kicking up debris all around!
The onlookers thought that was it as West was nowhere to be seen after the dust cleared.
West : HA! Is that</b> the fastest you can move big guy?! He had gotten to the side of the Beetle in no time at all!
More excited cries were shuffling around the crowd now!
??? : Woah this guy is quick! Did you even see him move just then?

The DamBeetle repeated it's attack and again West dodged it easily. Getting more attuned to where West was it started to change how it would strike, attempting to fake him out, going left slightly then right, before shooting down at him like a harpoon! But even this he was able to get around! West eyed the tail's motion very carefully before it moved and could respond in no time.

West : Looks like your still too slow! Maybe it's about time you came up outta this Nest of your's and fought me head on!

West raised his LAN spear high over his head then jumped!

??? : What's he doing?!
West : DamBeetle are sensitive to anything touching their soil right?! It's how they know when prey is around!  He shouted from way up in the air.
West : So I'll give it something to react to! Special Move!   He called.  His spear started to glow harshly and he charged back down to the ground like a bullet!
??? : Aw wow he's already mastered a LAN weapon technique? No wonder he's so good.
West : IRON... BRAVE!!!
A streak of energy started off his Weapon, trailing behind him as he descended to the ground.
The entire area felt the impact of his strike on the DamBeetle's soil and the resulting shockwave was enough to level the nearby cliffs!
??? : AW MAN! NOW THAT WAS A BLAST!</i>   ??? : Did it work?!
After things cleared the spectators heard a loud shrill screech pierce their ears, forcing them to cover them with their hands, eagerly awaiting to see what had happened...
The DamBeetle was indeed now up from underneath the soil, it's body carapace was a deep crimson with purple seen in a few openings for it's joints. It had large fangs and 6 green eyes, scanning the terrain. West was then seen on top of the beetle's tail.
West : Okay NOW we got ourselves a game!  Angry for having to come up from it's nest, the DamBeetle started to swing it's mighty black spear head tail around, while West struggled to hang on. He was tossed up into the air again by the tail and the Beetle turned and attempted another strike but West countered it with his LAN spear. He threw the stinger off him and landed on the Beetle's back.

??? : Not just fast, he's pretty strong too!

West was about to raise his spear to attack the Beetle's shell but it's tail came down at him again in a hurry! He dodged out of the way , jumping off the Beetle's back, as it's tail struck it's own hard shell, not damaging it though.

West : Huh, thick hide you got there buddy!  He taunted as the Beetle, turned again to face him. It's impressive size very apparent this close.

West : But I can crack it! Just watch me.....!

West eagerly charged after the beetle and before it could turn to swipe at him with it's tail, he plunged his LAN spear under the beetle's head and actually flipped it over by cranking down on the spear causing the broad end to rise under the creature's head, turning it onto it's back.

West : There we go! If the Hide is too thick just go for the underside, hey! Haha!
The spectators were amazed at West's ingenuity. He jumped onto the beetle's underside as it struggled to correct itself.
West : Gotcha!
But before he could strike it's belly with his spear the beetle's 6 flailing legs all curled and violently plunged inward at West!
He guarded himself with his spear, flung off the beetle's legs and quickly dug his Spear into it's gut!
The beetle let off an ear piercing screech and a large geyser of it's blood came shooting out of the impact site.

??? : He did it! Wow That guy is amazing!

The other adventurers cheered for West as he hopped down off the Beetle's belly grinning.
West : Ah come on it was nothing special really.
However he wasn't done just yet......
The crowd suddenly grew quiet leading West to look around curiously and he saw himself soon surrounded by 3 DamBeetles that were slowly rising up out of the Ground around him! They'd been alerted by the first one's screeches!

??? : Th-There's MORE?! I thought these thing only lived 1 to a nest!

West : Okay...this could be a little trickier now....

??? : Is he gonna try and take them all on at once?! He's insane! Get outta there man, they'll tear you down if you stay in!

West didn't listen to the warnings of the other adventurers and remained where he was, ready to face off against the 3 new beasts.
West : Bring it on you big ugly bugs!
All 3 DamBeetles raised their tail stingers and struck down at West! There was no room to dodge so he had to try and hold the 3 tails back with his LAN spear but his legs were giving way under the weight of all 3!
1 of them moved away and instead swiped along he ground at West knocking him away into a nearby stone.

As he was getting to his feet they were coming after him again, backwards, using their heat seeking tails to locate him.
He dodged one after the other as they struck down in succession!

They regained their formation moving in a line as they came towards West again, the center beetle suddenly jumped!

West : Woah!

The Beetle's giant armored body slammed down onto the sands of it's nest shaking the area!
??? : Did he get outta the way?!

The 3 Beetles paused to see where West had gone when suddenly the one that had jumped screeched loudly.
The next thing they all heard was the sound of what could only be described as a spurting of some kind of liquid.
The beetle thrashed madly and was soon being overturned!
It landed on it's side bleeding heavily with West's LAN spear sticking out of it's gut.

West : Heh, bad move pal, exposing the weak spot.

He didn't have time to relax though as the other 2 enraged beetle's screeched and tried to stab at him again.
He jumped out of the way but got caught off guard by the tail of the third one which wasn't dead yet.

Then the other 2 followed suit, smacking him around in mid air!

West : (Damn, gotta regain my ground!) He thought hastily as he continued to take damage.
He quickly formed a new LAN spear and managed to hook the blade into the space between the beetle's tail segments and was now hanging from it gripping his spear like a tree branch.
West : (Hey wait a second...That's it!)
The beetle didn't seem to be in any pain as a result but as West was hanging there, the others took more swings at him!
He swung out of the way of the first beetle's tail and IT got hooked into the tail segment of the same beetle West was hanging off of! Now the two were hooked together by their tails!

West : Perfect!
??? : wow is this kid nuts or just incredibly lucky?! I can't even tell anymore!
West jumped down from the Beetle's tail and while they were trying to get unhooked from each other he powered up his LAN special attack again, the Iron Brave! but instead of jumping to use it like before he swung the spear at the beetle's legs causing it to stumble after the energy blasted off of his weapon upon contact! The beetle went flying causing the tail that was hooked in the other beetle's tail segment to tear off!

??? : He got 'em! No way!
??? : Did you see that blow?! What power!

The beetle who's tail was torn away screeched in pain and keeled over dead from blood loss.
Now there were only 2 left.
The first tunneled back under the ground.  West : Hey! Where d'you think you're going?!
When the second suddenly shot off the end of it's tail spike like a rocket!
West : WOAH!
Taken by surprise West was blasted by the impact of the tail spike!  He bounced off the fround a few times before coming to

a stop after being blown back.

West : *Cough, cough* Ah, shit. Wasn't expecting that one...
West looked over at the damBeetle that'd fired off the attack and it seemed to be dead now, apparently it'd finally died from the wound West had given it.
West : Last you had left huh big guy? Heh, augh, man. N-not a bad shot though..
He said painfully, staggering to get to his feet.
West : Now where'd your buddy go?...
He asked surveying the area cautiously. His question was answered in a hurry as the beetle's tail came shooting up out of the ground just BARELY missing his head!

He could see that the tail's segments were stretching out so far from each other that the soft flesh in between was visible.

West : There! Gotcha!
He used his spear to swiftly cut away at the flesh between the tail segments and the beetle screeched loudly from under the sands!
A few quiet moments passed and no more beetles were heard or seen.

West smiled, but was visibly exhausted.
West : *huff huff huff*  Haha, oh man *huff huff* Now that *huff huff* was wild.

After the events of the training day, West and the other adventurers were relaxing by the Warp Gates of the Smart Lands.

??? : I'm telling you man that was insane! I just can't believe how you took all those DamBeetles down all on your own like that! What's your secret, how'd you get so strong?

??? : Yeah can you give us some pointers?

West : Well...uh it really goes back to my brother honestly. He ws the one who taught me how to fight. His name was Riot...
West said with a sudden saddened expression.

??? : Was...?

West : Yeah, as in he was alive but now he's dead...
??? : Wow, sorry to hear that...
??? : Hey hold on....You said...Riot, as in Rocket Riot?
West : Yep, heh, the very same.
??? : Damn your Brother is the famous Rocket Riot of the 1 arm lead?! No wonder you're so powerful. But he's seriously dead?! How is that possible he was such a legend in the Battle-Grounds competitive scene!

West : There was an attack, on our home...by these, guys in black uniforms or something.
I was so young I couldn't do anything...Riot, ...Our parents...our friends, neighbors....all dead....
??? : Man...why were these guys after your zone? [A zone is what we call any large state made up of towns, villages ect..]
West : No idea... But I'm gonna find them, and get some answers.
??? : So that's why you're here training huh?
West : Well, that...  and...

West then reached under his abdomen armor plate to a pocket and pulled out a palm sized shining stone. It was translucent with what looked like a shimmering light sealed up inside.

??? : Oh, that's a Birth Stone, who's is it? [ A "Birth Stone" is a small housing vessel for a person's Life force, represented by the flames burning inside the stone. It's contained in their heart as part of their biology, and can be used to bring a dead person back to life exactly 1 time, but if it's cracked or damaged in some way before then the "soul" escapes the stone and the person is officially dead forever...]

West : It's Riot's stone... I found it in the wreckage of the city after the invaders left. Amazingly undamaged heh. So I'm traveling to collect enough Fortune to perform a summoning of The Guardian Reviver. Then I can bring my brother back.

??? : I see...well that's great, good luck man. Losing Riot is a terrible thing for every Battle-Grounds enthusiast out there.

West : Thanks. and hey don't worry, I'm not gonna fail.

All of the sudden there was a loud explosion somewhere nearby! and it sent everyone in the immediate area flying!

There was a silence in the area as the smoke and debris cleared, and West stood up, shouting

West : Wh-what was that!? Hey! Who's out there!? Smart Lands are sentient but they don't just randomly blow up like that! So who's the wise ass?!

He could make out the figures of 4 people standing before him and the others, and when the smoke finally cleared West was stunned by what he saw!
